Wheat futures closed Thursday with CHI steady, as KC and MPLS were 2 3/4 and 7 1/2 cents higher, respectively. The USDA announced a private sale of 120,000 MT of HRW to Algeria for 16/17 delivery this morning. Old crop wheat export sales edged into the range of analysts’ expectations at 264,449 MT. That was down 32.5% on the week, but 24.2% larger than the same week a year ago. In addition, 74,200 MT of new crop sales were reported. Shipments of 619,308 MT were 37.5% above last week and 48.8% larger than what was announced last year at this time.
