The Deputy Commissioner Naushehro Feroze Dr. Waseem Ali on Wednesday presided over a meeting to review the arrangements for wheat procurement in the district.
According to the hand out issued here by the district information office, the Deputy Commissioner directed that the list of procurement centres should be issued for facilitating the growers and gunny bags must be provided to the growers so that they could be able to sale their products timely.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the officials concerned to ensure transparency and merit in wheat procurement process.
On the occasion, the Deputy Director Food, SBA division Rafique Ahmed Rajar and the the District Food Controller Ghulam Farooq informed the meeting that according to official policy 100 gunny bags would be provided to the growers having 16 acres of wheat crops.
The meeting was also informed that wheat procurement process would be started from April 12 in the district, adding that Sindh Govt have already set 1.3 million tons of wheat procurement target in the province, for which 51 procurement centres had been established in the district.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Fayaz Hussain Rahojo, all Assistant Commissioners of the district were attended the meeting.
