As per the crop reporting service Hyderabad, the cotton sowing position all over Sindh, out of the total target of 660000 hectares, has reached around 11-12% till date. The Major reason for the slow sowing pace is the shortage of canal water in the province of Sindh. Our research team has also mentioned similar problems during their current cotton crop sowing survey that growers are very worried for the water situation. If this water shortage continues to prolong till the end of May, the sowing target of cotton crop would not be achievable. Apart from the water crisis, growers have also mentioned electricity problems.
